To be accurate this list of sites must count only traffic from Canadian sources, although I doubt that all of the other 19,122 guests elbowing me at Shopzilla before 8 am on a Friday were fellow Canadians. But what does it mean that two of the top ten retail sites favoured by Canadian web site visitors can't be bothered responding to a Canadian postal code? Where are the Canadian entrepreneurs? And by the way, the #1 listing for new "shopping shortcuts" on Shopzilla links to their Apple store. You can probably get a good deal on an iPhone if you're ok with picking it up in Buffalo.

As Canadian as a Zip Code
Canadians, eh? This morning's Retail Council of Canada newsletter includes the headline "Canada's Best Retail Web Sites". Click to the story and find eBay, Apple and Amazon in the top three. But next up is Shopzilla.com and #6 is AmericanGreetings.com. Curiosity led me to follow links to both in turn. At Shopzilla one may enter a zip code to get price and shipping information for any item found. Try entering a postal code. At the greeting cards site you may enter a zip code to find a retailer near you. Try entering a postal code. "Please enter a valid 5 digit zip code", idiot.
