Why Search Engine Marketing is Key to your Web Strategy

Some of us spend more time in the digital world than others, and being in the digital business, I spend many hours a day engaging content in newsletters, email, web sites, blogs and communities. The Google Era is just warming up but already the range and amount of available opinion and information is overwhelming. Today I read a post in a marketing blog which contained a list of live links to other marketing blogs. The list required me to scroll several times to reach the end, which is where I found the advice to copy and paste the ENTIRE LIST into a post on my own blog, to make this pre-filtered list of content options available to visitors. I'm reasonably sure that visiting each of those sites for a quick sample of their content would take more than a full day. And, given the ease with which I can be sidetracked, a day wouldn't do it. Any of us who hope to generate clients, patients or customers through our web presence must be concerned about being a needle in the global, digital haystack. That's where SEM comes in.

On the NetVideoMaker web site we ask "wouldn't it be great if everyone who visited your site was actively searching for what you offer?" Of course it would. If I offer dental implants in Montreal, you should find my URL when you search on that term. Making that happen organically (search engine optimization) is not impossible but it is a specialty, and one in which the ground rules are constantly being revised without notice. Making it happen with Search Engine Marketing campaigns is quite possible, starts to work right away and may be monitored daily -even hourly- spending as much or as little as you decide. The money you spend is buying clicks on your sponsored link. Your sponsored link is displayed when key words you have bid on are entered into the search engine. What you bid depends on how much competition exists for the same key words. The top bidder has its ad displayed on top, and so on down the line. If you don't want to pay for clicks from outside your market area, you include your location in your ad, "dental implants Montreal". If I'm in Atlanta I'm not likely to click on your ad and until someone does you haven't spent any money. Perhaps best of all, you can set a monthly budget and experiment. You can gain an understanding of the process for less than the cost of a decent lunch. There are many web-based resources available to school you in SEM, naturally including those provided by the major players, Google and Yahoo. If you're in Southern Ontario please feel free to contact us through the web site for a casual conversation on the subject. But however you do it, be as helpful as you can to those good folks actively searching for what you offer - and do it soon.
As I mentioned in my very first post, a great presentation on SEM and related information is available here.

Getting More Attention from Web Visitors

At Netvideomaker.Com we are constantly developing products to expand your web site's ability to work for you. Our authority video + search engine marketing service is a top tier approach to making the powerful first impression that brings in new business. But there are other tools for informing, advertising, and data gathering that operate at a different level. They float above the existing page, entering and exiting on timed pathways, carrying content that ranges from simple messages and links, through opt in contact and poll-taking forms to full blown video presentations. Each has its place in your marketing strategy and imagination sets the limits for how they can be used to keep visitors interested in and interactive with your content.

Imagine being able to create web site video that floats over your home or other site page. You deliver your message without having to redesign the presentation you invested time and capital to create. The message can be moved around at will, travels with the page when the visitor scrolls down and quietly vanishes when its job is done. I've put together a sample of this approach which you can visit by clicking here. Drag the video screen around by the title block to see how easily it can be situated wherever your visitor prefers it to be. This function may be included or excluded during creation.

Another of the useful tools we create for web site operators is one we call the "site kite", echoing its ability to hover over fixed content to deliver a message and a selection of links for further discovery. This might be what you're looking for if you have a busy site and want to bring traffic from it to another site you are trying to introduce or build up. There's a basic example of this tool right here.

These examples are not intended to be exhaustive. We offer numerous others, along with simple directions for their operation within your site. Our approach gives you the choice between using us as a supplier on an as-needed basis or inviting us to train you or someone you designate in how to create similar "site kites" in-house. For more please visit us at NetVideoMaker.Com and submit your contact information. We look forward to meeting you.
